The Experience
Start the weekend in refined elegance at the birthplace of California winemaking. Buena Vista Winery is celebrating their 160th anniversary this year. So, it’s fitting that Signature Sonoma Valley’s very first gathering will be held in their beautifully restored, historic champagne caves. At this intimate and exclusive dinner, legendary vintners will nearly outnumber guests, as they pour rare and micro-production wines from their collections. The evening will include an opportunity to hear from one of the wine world’s most renowned leaders who will join us as a special guest and host of the evening. An incomparable range of wines has been hand-selected by a panel of sommeliers to accompany an exquisite dinner prepared by a preeminent chef.
The Setting
BUENA VISTA WINERY
Before there were vineyards in every valley north of San Francisco, before there was a California wine world at all, there was Buena Vista. Founded in 1857, right here in Sonoma, Buena Vista is California’s very first premium winery. Now restored to its former magnificence, Buena Vista Winery’s grounds and carefully preserved structures are dripping with history.
HOST
Buena Vista Winery’s charismatic proprietor, the legendary Jean-Charles Boisset, who heads a respected collection of wineries spanning from California to his native France, will personally welcome Prelude guests to this very special property. Jean-Charles is the visionary behind the spectacular renaissance that Buena Vista has experienced in recent years, restoring both the winery and its wines to their rightful place of historical significance in Sonoma.
