Laurel Glen Vineyard has long been considered an iconic Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard of the Sonoma Mountain AVA, in the heart of Sonoma Valley. Originally planted in the 1880s, the present-day vineyard was developed in the 1970s by Sonoma wine pioneer Patrick Campbell, who also created the proprietary Laurel Glen Clone of Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard’s distinctive combination of high elevation on Sonoma Mountain, eastern exposure, rocky volcanic soils, and small diurnal temperature swings yields wines of remarkable character and precision. Despite its small production, Laurel Glen wines have earned international acclaim for their exceptional balance, elegance, and ability to age gracefully. After 30 vintages, Patrick Campbell sold the vineyard and winery to a small group of devoted wine lovers led by Bettina Sichel, whose family has been involved in the European wine trade for five generations.

An ambitious team has ushered in a new era at Laurel Glen Vineyard. Renowned organic viticulturalist Phil Coturri oversees the vineyard, while accomplished winemaker Randall Watkins leads the cellar. Under their stewardship, Laurel Glen has been thoughtfully rebuilt with great care and intention. The vineyard is now CCOF-certified organic, alongside a host of other quality-driven improvements that honor the site’s historic legacy on Sonoma Mountain.
