Partners in wine. Friends for decades. Jim and Angelo share stories from the earliest days of Sonoma Valley’s emergence as a world-class wine region.
Jim represents the past and future of one of California’s most renowned winegrowing families. His great, great grandfather Jacob Gundlach purchased the historic Rhinefarm in 1858, making his children the sixth generation to farm this sacred Sonoma Valley ground.
Angelo’s father Vittorio bought a 52-acre pear orchard in Sonoma Valley in 1927. In 1969, Angelo and his brothers and sons started planting grape vines. Today, the Sangiacomo name is synonymous with vineyard designate wines of unparalleled quality.
