With the heart of its operation in the cellar, Tin Barn Vineyards has earned a reputation for celebrating the winemaking process. Recently, winemaker Michael Lancaster’s fine attention to detail has earned particular acclaim for the Tin Barn Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma Valley:
**2012 Tin Barn Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma Valley – current release
Best of Class, 2015 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
**2013 Tin Barn Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma Valley – releases summer 2016
Best of Class, 2016 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
Gold Medal, 2016 TexSom International Wine Awards
Tin Barn Vineyards is typically known for its vineyard designate wines—each of the other six wines on the menu hails from a single vineyard. However, the Cabernet Sonoma Valley is blended from three local vineyards. It is produced in small lots of approximately 700 cases at the Tin Barn Vineyards cellar on Eighth Street East in Sonoma; each bears a retail price of $36. Over their sixteen years in operation, Tin Barn Vineyards has remained committed to offering well-crafted wines for a value.
On Saturday, May 14th, at 1 p.m., the winery will celebrate the awards and continue a tradition by presenting its third annual Cabernet Blending Party. Lancaster will lead a vertical tasting from barrels and bottles. Carefully chosen food pairings will be provided by Melissa Teaff.
For this casual, cozy event, tickets are very limited.
