SONOMA VALLEY ROOTS:
I moved from one the world’s greatest cities, Barcelona, Spain, to Sonoma in 1986 and I’ve never looked back. What drew me was that Sonoma is a friendly, small town with a real center, the Sonoma Plaza. Yet it’s close to another great city, San Francisco, where I can get my city fix in less than 1 hour. After 28 years, I raised a family in the town of Sonoma, and built some deep roots with the people and the land. Great places attract great people, the proof is in the amazing and generous community that we have.
WHAT SETS SONOMA VALLEY APART:
It has so much more than wine! I love wine, but what is a good wine if there is nothing to accompany it? Sonoma Valley is a magical place that produces great grapes and wine, peppered with orchards and farms. It’s the epitome of “local” – where great cheeses and organic, sustainable produce come from (well before the words were in everybody’s lingo). The valley has quaint and beautiful towns, a rich history, breathtaking scenery, spectacular restaurants, artists and culture. A place where deeply rooted and newcomer neighbors share it all.
FAVORITE PLACE ONLY THE LOCALS KNOW:
A bike ride in the trails at Maxwell Park “forest” and along the banks of Sonoma Creek.
IF YOU DIDN’T MAKE WINE WHAT WOULD YOU BE:
I don’t make wine, I only drink it! I would like to be involved in art/architecture/design. I have no talent to create it, but I would promote it.

Only one! Good cheese, that means stinky.

I would go back to my Catalan roots: “pà amb tomàquet i pernil de glà”. Bread with tomato and jabugo ham with a glass of Carneros Cuvée.
