Winemaker and proprietor Michael Muscardini's family has been in the Bay Area – and in the wine business – for more than a century.  His grandfather, Emilio, sold wine in San Francisco after Prohibition and founded the St. Helena Napa Valley Wine Company.  Today Michael is continuing his family tradition, making just 5,000 cases a year of mostly classic Italian reds in the $30-$60 range.  He is one of the winemakers that has been leading the way in the revival of Sangiovese and Barbera wines in Sonoma since 2005.  Vintage after vintage, his Tuscan-style "Tesoro" (a blend of Sangiovese, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon) has been award-winning.  In addition to these beautiful red varietals, there are also refreshing Pinot Grigio and a rose made from sangiovese on offer in the tasting room daily.

Michael's deep community ties and warm relationships with other local winemakers enables him to source some of the best fruit for his wines from some of the best growers in the county.  Conveniently located on Highway 12, right in the heart of Sonoma Valley's most famous wine trail, Muscardini Cellars is an easy place to pull over and stop in to discover something handcrafted and unique.  You may event meet the winemaker himself as Michael Muscardini and his lovable dog Beni, are often visiting in the tasting room 6 days a week!
