DESCRIBE YOUR SONOMA VALLEY ROOTS?
My parents started our family roots here in Sonoma when we planted our vineyard on the ridge of Moon Mountain on Cavedale Road in 2000. I moved here full time in 2007 when we launched our Korbin Kameron wine brand.
WHAT SETS SONOMA VALLEY APART?
That’s easy, the people! I’ve met some of the most interesting people here that are 3rd and 4th generation Sonoma Valley born and raised. Sonomans speak their minds, go against the grain, and are just the right amount of “kooky”. I feel right at home.
FAVORITE PLACE ONLY THE LOCALS KNOW?
All of my answers are bars, my favorite being Jack London Saloon in Glen Ellen.
ONE LESSON YOU CHERISH FROM YOUR PARENT’S GENERATION?
If somebody tells you that you can’t do something, you work hard and prove them wrong.
WHAT IS ONE OF YOUR GUILTY PLEASURES?
Secretly pouring people Merlot when they try to skip it in our tasting room because “they just aren’t Merlot fans”. They usually change their opinion after I tell them the “Cabernet” they just had is actually 100% Merlot.
WHAT ARE YOU INSPIRED BY?
The old timers here that allow us to benefit from their mistakes.
FAVORITE WINE (BESIDES YOUR OWN)?
Talisman Adastra Pinot Noir. Scott is a seriously talented winemaker.
WHAT WOULD YOUR LAST MEAL BE?
Nigiri omakase at Hana Japanese restaurant in Rohnert Park. Ken is easily the best itamae in Norcal and my mercury levels are nice and high because of him.
FAVORITE HOLIDAY TRADITION?
Thanksgiving is probably our most important holiday. We are gluttons and love cooking. We spend all day eating and drinking in the kitchen together and that is our favorite holiday tradition.
HOPES FOR THE FUTURE?
Continuing Sonoma Valley’s tradition of unique farming and winemaking, and establishing a long-lasting legacy here.
