Immersion: Vineyard Exploration + Tasting

PRESENTED BY AMERICAN AGCREDIT

UNDERSTANDING THE EXCEPTIONAL TERROIR OF MOON MOUNTAIN VINEYARD

LOCATION: REPRIS
Saturday, May 16, 2020
9:30 – 11:30 AM

For the first time, Proprietor Jim Momtazee and Repris Winemaker Erich Bradley will personally welcome Immersion guests to Moon Mountain Vineyard, home of Repris Wines, for an educational exploration of this celebrated site.

This exploration, of the only wine region in California to be comprised of 100% volcanic soils, focuses on the unique terroir of the storied Moon Mountain Vineyard. Just an hour north of the Golden Gate lies this spectacular historic vineyard known only to a few. You won’t see any signs for it as you pass through the town of Sonoma. Many locals aren’t even aware it’s here. But high above the valley floor, grapes have been grown on this mountain for over 125 years. Shaped by volcanic forces millions of years ago, Moon Mountain Vineyard sprawls across the western slope of the Mayacamas Mountain range. Layers of iron-rich basalt and volcanic ash undulate throughout the property’s nearly 300 acres. Low-yielding organic vineyard blocks are carved out of the most exposed parcels high above the fog line, with some rising to nearly 2,000 feet in elevation.

The Experience

Guests will stroll the vineyard where they will examine firsthand the ancient terroir of Moon Mountain Vineyard. Afterward they will enjoy an intimate conversation with Jim and Erich to learn the remarkable history of the property while savoring the sense of place that defines it. Attendees will taste a vertical of Cabernet Sauvignon, including prized gems from vintages dating back more than 30 years. The experience will provide Immersion guests with a comprehensive understanding of how Moon Mountain Vineyard expresses the ageability, balance, freshness and texture that illustrate the very best of the Moon Mountain District appellation.
