Spann Vineyards: Meet the Winemaker

Location:

Spann Cellars, 8910 Sonoma Highway, Kenwood, CA 95452

Date:

06/04/2016 - 06/04/2016
12:00 pm - 06:00 pm

Betsy Spann just returned from judging at the California State Fair Wine Competition in Sacramento and will be chilling out in our new tasting room in Kenwood Village.  If you think tasting wines at 3 or 4 wineries in a day is rough, try tasting 120 chardonnays in a day!  She says it will be a few days before her teeth stop hurting – oooh the acid!  oooh the pH pain!

However, she's not in too much pain to greet you and discuss our distinctive wines.  This Saturday from noon to 6 pm she'll be pouring and describing the production methods for our:

VIOGNIER, Alexander Valley – we call this "springtime in a glass".

CINSAULT, Sonoma Valley – one of the most interesting Rhone Ranger grapes from the only Cinsault planting in Sonoma Valley

ZINFANDEL, Sonoma County – Hot weather is here, bring on the barbecue!

MALBEC, Sonoma County 2012 – One of the few Malbecs made in Sonoma County. Intense black cherry taste, light up the grill & savor this with any red meats.

CABERNET SAUVIGNON CROSS CREEK VINEYARD, Moon Mountain District
Only 82 cases made, luscious and intense, from this ideal southwest facing vineyard, 2,200 feet of elevation at the top of the Mayacamas Mountains.

PETIT VERDOT, Sonoma County – "Black Beauty" the most rare, darkest and complex of the Bordeaux grape varieties, also the 2nd most expensive grape in Sonoma County (after Pinot Noir).

PLUS A FREE HUG WITH ANY 12-BOTTLE PURCHASE!!!
Cheers!
