Abbot’s Passage

Abbot’s Passage, a new project from sixth-generation vintner Katie Bundschu, is a collection of small lot, co-fermented field blends sourced from storied vineyards within Sonoma and beyond. Housed in a historic red barn in downtown Sonoma, our tasting room offers apparel, home decor, adventure gear, curiosities, as well as maker workshops and a wine salon featuring small-lot field blends from our Abbot’s Passage project. The name pays homage to an abbot from Mount La Salle Christian Brothers who, according to local legend, trekked weekly from Napa into Sonoma along an ancient native american footpath – a wild, heavily wooded ridgeline passing through the current Bartholomew Park Vineyard – to reach his favorite watering hole. Leveraging 30 years of single-vineyard sourcing, this concept represents our family’s pioneering pursuit of discovery – our quest to survey the peaks and valleys of Sonoma to discover its most distinctive vineyard sites from which to make inimitable, character-rich field blends.
