DESCRIBE YOUR SONOMA VALLEY ROOTS?
I moved here when I was a year old. My family started Little Vineyards Family Winery in 1995. The vineyard was our playground. I can remember every harvest, riding in the tractor with my dad and tasting the grapes. Running through the vineyards as kids and helping harvest in the Fall.
WHAT SETS SONOMA VALLEY APART?
We are so family oriented here in the valley. There is such a sense of camaraderie between the family wineries. We are here to make good wine, and good friends along the way, but we don’t take our selves too seriously. Family comes first here.
FAVORITE PLACE ONLY THE LOCALS KNOW?
A lot of people know about the Swiss Hotel, but if you’re a local then you know that you can only order a “Juicy Lucy” burger on Sundays to enjoy on the patio while people watching.
ONE LESSON YOU CHERISH FROM YOUR PARENT’S GENERATION?
My mom and dad didn’t give up on their dream, and their winery is authentic to who they are. They married their two passions of wine and music and built their dream together. Where else can you record a soundtrack and drink a few glasses of wine? They found a way to do it.
ONE OF YOUR GUILTY PLEASURES?
Amazon Prime, it’s like Christmas at your doorstep!
WHAT ARE YOU INSPIRED BY?
Not to sound cliché, but my mom. Her ability to manage the winery, her family, and her friendships is unstoppable. Not to mention she ALWAYS makes time to spend time with her grandbabies. She’s incredible.
A FAVORITE WINE (BESIDES YOUR OWN)?
Belden Barns, Serendipity Pinot Noir. If you haven’t tried, get to it! Lauren and Nate Belden are fantastic people and have a great thing going!
WHAT WOULD YOUR LAST MEAL BE?
I am so blessed with a husband who is a great cook. I would have to say one of his famous ‘surprise wing it’ recipes or one of his delicious steaks, alongside a Sonoma Market caesar salad.
A FAVORITE HOLIDAY TRADITION?
We have a cozy Christmas. Our family opens up presents in their pj’s and plays board games on Christmas Eve all while drinking delicious wine.
HOPES FOR THE FUTURE?
Continuing to help grow our business at Little Vineyards Family Winery, raising my family here in Sonoma Valley to keep the roots running deep and possibly even having a vineyard of my own one day!
