SONOMA VALLEY ROOTS:

My grandfather, Vittorio, bought our first ranch in Sonoma Valley in 1927. That’s where he raised my father, Angelo, and his siblings. I was born and raised here, and run our multi-generational business along with my brother, Mike and sister, Mia. I feel extremely fortunate to be able to raise my family here and appreciate this small town feel more than ever.

WHAT SETS SONOMA VALLEY APART:

Sonoma Valley has a sense of history that you can feel and see. The town of Sonoma has done a remarkable job of keeping its architectural integrity while maintaining the necessary growth to allow for people all over the world to experience this special place. Most importantly, our wines compete with any place in the world as the expression of Sonoma Valley Grapes and Wine continues to shine in the bottle as it did a century ago.

FAVORITE PLACE ONLY THE LOCALS KNOW:

Happy Dog in Sonoma – best short order food in town. We went there as kids growing up and it’s still there today. Obviously the hot dogs are phenomenal but so are the hamburgers.

IF YOU DIDN’T MAKE WINE WHAT WOULD YOU BE:

I have an entrepreneurial spirit, so hopefully I would be doing something to reflect that.

GUILTY PLEASURE:

Sugar Gum and Candy

FAVORITE WINE (BESIDES YOURS):

That’s like picking your favorite child, can’t do it. Too many good ones.

LAST MEAL:

Tri Tip, Grandmother’s Ravioli with my Grandmother’s Gravy (Pasta Sauce), Fava Beans from my Grandmother’s garden, and a big glass of Sonoma Pinot Noir.

WHAT SHOULD WE KNOW ABOUT SANGIACOMO FAMILY VINEYARDS:

Our multi-generational family business has been farming in Sonoma Valley for over 80 years and growing wine grapes for over 40 years. We sell grapes to over 60 different wineries, many of whom actually put Sangiacomo Vineyards on their label.
